Theo the Teddy Bear by Kate E. Hancock - Digital Version
Theo the Teddy Bear is surely the most appealing little bear you have ever seen. With his round ears and big feet, he is posing patiently at 7 – 8” (17 – 20cm), just waiting to be your friend. Suitable for an intermediate crocheter, the pattern is made in a spiral of continuous rounds, and uses a variety of stitches and techniques which are clearly explained in the numerous diagrams and photos.
Theo can be made poseable or non-poseable – as you wish. Theo can be created using any DK yarn, but why not try our own awarding winning Deramores Studio DK, a beautifully soft acrylic yarn with anti-pilling technology. The closest Studio DK shades are Oatmeal and Pearl, though Theo would look just as good in any combination of contrasting shades.
Please be aware that Studio DK is a 100g ball, so you will have some left over if a 50g ball is specified - although you could put it towards making another of Kate's fabulous creations! To complete your bear you will need: 1 x 100g ball of Main Shade 1 x 50g ball of Contrast Shade 3.5mm (USE/4) crochet hook 3.25mm (US D/3) crochet hook for the crocheted eyes option Small amount of yarn for crocheted eyes option 2 x 20mm safety eyes - though please note that Kate handpainted the safety eyes in the illustration for extra appeal - they are usually either a plain black or 'googly' Yarn or thread for embroidering the nose and toes Stuffing Yarn needle Stitch markers Please note: Theo is crocheted using UK terminology.
