Millie the Panda Bear by Kate E. Hancock - Digital Version
Have you ever seen a more appealing panda than Millie the Panda Bear? She is keen to leave behind her home in the remote mountains of central China, and is hoping to find fun and adventure with you. With her black and white appeal and her cute little ears, she measures approximately 6” (15cm), and is just waiting to be your friend. Suitable for an intermediate crocheter, the pattern is made in a spiral of continuous rounds, and uses a variety of stitches and techniques which are clearly explained in the numerous diagrams and photos. Millie can be poseable or non-poseable – the choice is yours.
Millie can be created using any DK yarn, but why not try our own awarding winning Deramores Studio DK, a beautifully soft acrylic yarn with anti-pilling technology. Giant pandas only come in 2 shades, and we think Millie would look fabulous crocheted in Ebony and Frost.
Please be aware that Studio DK is a 100g ball, so you will have some yarn left over – which you could use to make Millie a friend! To complete your panda you will need: 1 x 50g balls of Main Shade DK yarn 1 x 50g ball of Contrast Shade DK yarn 3.5mm (USE/4) crochet hook 3.25mm (US D/3) crochet hook for the crocheted eyes option Small amount of yarn for crocheted eyes option Small amount of yarn for nose 2 x 20mm safety eyes - though please note that Kate handpainted the safety eyes in the illustration for extra appeal - they are usually either a plain black or 'googly' Stuffing Yarn needle Stitch markers Please note: Millie is crocheted using UK terminology.
