Sometimes you need an extra layer which will keep you warm and cosy on a summer evening, and these pretty capes from King Cole are ideal.
Created using King Cole Drifter Chunky
, a soft and cosy yarn which knits up quickly to produce a striped and Fair Isle appearance with an overall subtle marl.
The illustration shows the Stocking Stitch Cape in Istanbul
and the Cabled Cape in Jakarta
, though they would both look equally good in other shades in the range – and there are plenty to choose from.
Both capes are knitted in a single piece, with the neckband created using picked up stitches along the upper edge.
Instructions are for a wide range of sizes to fit bust 32/36 to 44/48” (81/91 to 112/123cm).
To complete your capes you will need 5.0 and 6.0mm (US8 and US 10) knitting needles. You will also need a cable needle for the Cable Cape.
