Bracken the Kitten by Kate E. Hancock - Digital Version
Bracken the Kitten is in need of a companion and is hoping to find one in you. With his pointy ears and pretty paws, he measures approximately 5 – 6” (12 – 15cm) when sitting, and is just waiting to be your friend. Suitable for an intermediate crocheter, the pattern is made in a spiral of continuous rounds, and uses a variety of stitches and techniques which are clearly explained in the numerous diagrams and photos.
Bracken can be created using any DK yarn, but why not try our own awarding winning Deramores Studio DK, a beautifully soft acrylic yarn with anti-pilling technology. Kittens come in various shades, and we think Bracken would look fabulous crocheted in Smoke and Frost.
Please be aware that Studio DK is a 100g ball, so you will have yarn left over – so you could create a friend for Bracken! To complete your kitten you will need: 1 x 50g in your Main Shade. 1 x 50g in your Contrast Shade 3.5mm (USE/4) crochet hook 3.25mm (US D/3) crochet hook for the crocheted eyes option Small amount of yarn for crocheted eyes option 2 x 20mm safety eyes - though please note that Kate handpainted the safety eyes in the illustration for extra appeal - they are usually either a plain black or 'googly' Stuffing Yarn needle Stitch markers Please note: Bracken is crocheted using UK terminology.
