This project is suitable for the adventurous beginner onwards. It assumes that you can cast on and off and work knit and purl stitches. There are both written instructions and charts to help you along the way.

You will require: 4mm knitting needles, 3.25mm knitting needles, locking stitch markers, sharp scissors, tape measure or ruler, sharp darning needle, toy stuffing, sewing needle and thread.

Measurements:

Individual squares 25cm x 25cm (10in x 10in) (excluding Beach Huts)

Finished Blanket 150cm x 150cm (60in x 60in)

Tips for success:

  1. Keep all your yarn labelled, when working in artificial light it can be easy to mistake Saxe with Turquoise.
  2. Sew in your ends after each square, taking care to keep the back of the pieces nice and tidy. Use a sharp darning needle and weave in each end well to prevent all your hard work from coming apart over the years.
  3. Mark off the blocks on the block layout diagram as you make them to keep track of where you are.

The KAL will run for 8 weeks and a pattern will be released on Monday every week.

It appears to have gone quite quiet with regards to knitting kits. A lot of crochet though.

Excellent product. Had enough materials to complete the blanket and the ice cream cushion.

Gorgeous blanket

Instructions easy to follow so far. I am switching some of the colors and instructions are clear on how to do that.

Lovely new project for lockdown evenings

I am impressed with the yarn and the instructions are very comprehensive. I did originally have trouble downloading them but I think this was due to my device rather than the facility. I knit in the evening and wanted some new project. So far I have completed 6 squares and am on my 7th. I think the making up might be problematic with the beach huts as there is no firm edge. However I am delighted with the overall project and think the beach idea is great. If all goes well it should be a fantastic present for my daughter.
