Grand Eyelet Lace

This stitch is worked over a multiple of 4 stitches plus 4 stitches for selvedge. 3 rows form the pattern.

Note: Work 3rd row loosely using needle 3 times larger.

1st row: P2, * yrn, P4 tog, rep from * to last 2 sts, P2.

2nd row: K2, * K1, K1 and P1 and K1 into yrn of previous row, rep from * to last 2 sts, K2.

3rd row: K.

Yarn round needle (yrn), row 1: Take the yarn from the front of the work, over the right-handle needle and under to return yarn to front again. This will make a stitch between purl stitches.

Purl 4 together (P4 tog), row 1: Insert the right-hand needle purlwise through the next 4 stitches. Wind yarn round needle and draw a loop through all 4 stitches and allow them all to drop off needle together. This will reduce 4 stitches to 1 stitch.

Increase into next stitch, row 2: Work K1, P1 and K1 all into made stitch of the previous row. This will replace the stitches lost on the previous row.
