Elliptical Cable Stitch
Note: This stitch requires a cable needle.
This cable is worked over 12 stitches. 10 rows form the pattern.
1st row (WS): K2, P2 tbl, P4, P2 tbl, K2.
2nd row: P2, K2 tbl, K4, K2 tbl, P2.
3rd and every following alternate row: As 1st row.
4th row: P2, K2 tbl, C4B, K2 tbl, P2.
6th and 8th rows: As 2nd row.
10th row: P2, Cr8, P2.
Cable 4 Back (C4B), row 4: Slip 2 stitches on to cable needle and hold cable needle at back of work. Knit the next 2 stitches on left-hand needle. Slide the 2 stitches on cable needle to the right-hand point and them in the normal way.
Cross 8 (Cr8), row 10: Slip 4 stitches on to cable needle and hold at back. Knit the next 2 stitches on left-hand needle. Knit the first 2 stitches on cable needle. Bring cable needle to the front and knit the next 2 stitches on left-hand needle. Knit the 2 stitches on cable needle.
