After the phenomenal success of the luscious Lily Pond CAL in 2015 Jane Crowfoot is back with this fabulous crochet-along. Frida’s Flowers Blanket is inspired by Mexican Folk Art, along with the colourful dresses worn by the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and we are swooning over the deep hues within the CAL. Jane designed the rich blanket in assosiation with the British brand Stylecraft and we’re so excited to release the colour pack to create this gorgeous blanket! The CAL uses Classique Cotton, but colour packs are also available in the ever popular Stylecraft Special DK and Life DK.
The CAL itself begins on Tuesday 5th of April and the weekly pattern instalments can be found on Stylecraft’s website here.
So why not join in the fun and choose one of our three colour packs below and be part of this fantastic CAL.
Frida’s Flowers CAL uses the stunningly soft 100% cotton yarn Classique Cotton. This yarn works excellently for this project and has brilliant drapability and stitch definition, making it perfect for the detailed crochet stitches within this CAL. Classique Cotton has a gorgeous matt sheen to the yarn meaning your finished crochet will both look and feel like a high-end piece. Jane uses deep and rich colours within this range with added accents of light and summery shades to bring the blanket to life. The Classique Cotton Colour Pack is made up of thirty 50g balls, with black being the dominant colour the influence of Mexican art really shines through within the yarn. This throw would look beautiful in a bedroom creating a romantic and sensual ora with the mixture of Plum, Black and Nocturne.
